Subreddit and thread research

HeyCatch researches the communities and conversations where your buyers already talk about the problem you solve.

Which communities are worth your time

HeyCatch starts from your product brief and your audience, then looks for the places where those people already post. Size is not the point. A subreddit of twelve thousand builders who ask about distribution every week beats one with two million members who never do.

You get a starting list of subreddits, and the same work runs for the accounts and topics to follow on X and Threads.

What it learns about a room

For every community on your list, HeyCatch collects what you would otherwise learn by lurking for a month:

  • When posts there get read, by day and hour.
  • What kind of post performs — numbers, failure stories, build logs, questions.
  • How people write when they are not selling anything.
  • The rules: how often a product may be mentioned, whether links are allowed, what gets a comment removed.

That brief is attached to every catch from that room, and it is what the suggested reply is written against.

Threads worth answering

Those rooms are searched with your keywords every day. What reaches you is a thread where a reply from you would be useful: someone asking how to get first users, comparing tools in your category, or describing the problem you solve.

Freshness is part of the filter. A thread from this morning is still being read; one from last week is not.

Set up: keywords

Twenty keyword slots. A working list holds four kinds of term:

  • Your product name and domain, so mentions of you reach you.
  • Competitors, so you see the comparison threads.
  • Problem phrases in the words people use at two in the morning — cant get customers, nobody is buying, stuck at zero.
  • The tools your buyers build with — built with lovable, built on replit, vibe coded.

Keep the typos and the missing apostrophes. That is how the posts you want are written. Broad category terms like saas marketing fill the feed with posts nobody is asking anything in, so they are the first to drop when the list is full.

Set up: subreddits

Twenty slots again, prefilled with what the research found. Add any subreddit by name, remove the ones that bring nothing. The Add button greys out at twenty, so the list stays a decision rather than a pile.

Subreddits target Reddit only. On X and Threads your keywords do that job, so include the phrases people actually type there.

Set up: search language

Set separately from the keywords, at the top of the panel. It decides the language of the threads that reach you, not the language your replies are written in.

Changing it later

Edit the lists whenever you like; the next run uses them as you left them. If a reply worked, add the phrase from that thread as a keyword. If a room sends threads you keep archiving, take it off the list.

You shipped a product.

Let's get it earning.
