A stock library inside the app
Open it from Background images and videos and you get a searchable library of free photos and video, without leaving HeyCatch, opening a stock site or paying for anything.
Everything in it is vertical, because that is the shape your posts and slideshows are built in.
Searching
Type a word and search. The results switch between All, Photos and Videos, and every video tile shows its length, so you can see at a glance whether a clip is eleven seconds or forty-five.
Search for the surroundings, not the subject. Your caption is the subject; the footage behind it should hold still — an evening street, a desk, a window, a sky.
Picking what you want
Click as many tiles as you need; the button counts them, so you always know what you are about to save. Cancel closes the window and keeps nothing.
Where the picks go
Saved files land in your library next to the ones you uploaded yourself, and they behave the same from then on: open a file to see its details and change where it may appear, or delete it.
How often they end up in posts is the one setting above the grid, from stock only to your own files only.
What is kept out
Stock is used as background only, so nobody in a shot can look like they are endorsing your product. Shots with visible logos are skipped, which keeps someone else’s brand out of your posts.
Credit
The photos and videos come from Pexels. Every tile names the person who shot it, and the credit stays with the file.
